Praying for your family. I also heard Bro. Bill Buie preach in South Bend, IN when I was a child.

Are you the elder's son?
No, there are 3 Buie brothers. I am Bill's nephew.

Re: The Loss of a Legend

We had a wonderful service today. Many speakers walking down memory lane. All three son's spoke as well as myself and one other grandson. And yes, all three sons and all the grandsons wore bowties. Those who knew him will realize that significance.

We are very appreciative of all your thoughts and prayers.

Re: The Loss of a Legend

Was this Bro. Buie the one who was son-in-law to the late A.T. Morgan and was in the ALJC back in the nineteen seventies?

Yes, he was the son-in-law of A.T. Morgan...he remained a licensed minister with the ALJC (Louisiana District) until his death.

Sorry, late getting to respond to your question. The viewing and funeral services were held at Soul's Harbor UPC in Calhoun (just west of Monroe/West Monroe) and the burial occured at HillCrest Memorial just east of Bossier City.

Re: The Loss of a Legend

I have posted the obituary and some personal comments that I made at the service on my blog for those who might have known him.
