ROFL!!!! And not just that he has always been a lot thinner!

For those not in the know apparently in the last few years all of his wild oats were sown and he is a born again conservative toeing the UPC line. In fact perhaps more than toeing the line. Gotta prove that "street cred" so folks won't be scared of the mantle being passed from father to son.

This has been coverd ad naseum. Most communities have Cables Access channels that offer FREE air time and many times the free use of equipment for videotaping or editing. The "it's too expensive" line is an old and inaccurate refrain.

I have watched for over 30 years as that horse has been beaten deader than Jimmy Hoffa.

I remember hearing a preacher one time quote the production costs of that day for the average network television drama and try to say that is what a church program would cost. It was absurd. It was truly a case or either ignorance or manipulating non releveant numbers intentionally to make a point.

Yup. Promiseland Church's live webcast last Wedneday night started off ok then deteriorated into something horrible.

Indiana Campmeeting on that Apostolic web network this summer was the same. Sound started off ok then got so bad I couldn't keep listening.

Tis very true that there is "free" cable access in nearly every region of the country. However, let's all be honest here and admit that the "free" stuff is not what most of us want to be associated with. I have had the "misfortune" of seeing some of the local churches in different areas of the country put their services on public access, and most of them make the churches look like back woods, wrong side of the track, churches.

When most of men look at being on TV they are thinking of TD Jakes, Rod Parsley quality broadcasts. Which are major productions and cost serious money to broadcast.

I have personally been on the staff of a ministry that broadcast nationally on cable and it cost them $2000.00 per week for 30 min. and this was highly discounted to get them on the air(this did not include the cost of production.) Very few churches have that kind of money to throw around.

Running commercials is an even worst investment. Think about how many commercials you see for non-Apostolic churches on TV. (I am not talking about on TBN or other christian stations, I'm referring to regular local or cable channels) Very few indeed! Why?

The non-Apostolics tried commercials years ago and found out it did not work, and they quit sinking their money into a "bag with holes." We're like the proverbial teenager who's parent tells them it's not a good idea to do something because they have been there and tried it and it didn't work, yet the teenager feels they can do it anyway and the outcome will be different. Have you confirmed the part about being a card carrying conservitive?

I have known Landy and believe he has become a very different person than his reputation. I dont know about how conservitive he is.

I sure would like to know.

I know Landy fairly well, and whatever may have been the case years ago, if I am any judge of "real," Landy is real.

He does. He is so much like his father, Tom Ed. Tom Ed was one of my Dad's best friend waaaay back. I remember when they first moved to Lake Charles. I was just a little kid. ME is my age. We visited with them there staying in their home.

ME and I have known each other all of our lives. We were in the first grade class room together. We stayed friends, went to Youth Camp beginning in 1954, the very first one when bro. S.L. Wise was the D.S. He later become the assistant to Bro. Mangun in about 1960 after Buddy Guidroz left.

He always has been a christian gentleman always showing the love of God to all that he came into contact with.

Though I have been out of contact with him for quite a few years, I am now inspired to renew that friendship.

Bro. Ewing has shown nothing but a gentle and loving spirit, his leadership in music for youth camp, when I was young, still holds a warm place in my heart.
I love the man.

I hope I am copying & pasting this correctly. There are 2 good sermons by Murrell Ewing at this site along with many many others including Sis. Alvear.
