Uninsured Rate Hits New Low In 2014!

Ten of the 11 states with the biggest declines in their uninsured rates accepted the health care law's Medicaid expansion, which provides safety-net coverage for low-income residents, mainly adults with no children living at home. Topping the list were Arkansas and Kentucky, with double-digit decreases.

obama is saying, "So far, so good." Of course, he'll be out of office when his signature healthcare plan splatters on the concrete.

You will see.

10 years, 20 years from now, if nothing in the law changes, you will see that it was a good thing and yet another example of God's Grace on America under President Obama.

How is expanding an already broken system good news? It will cost $2 trillion over the next 10 years. How is that going to get paid? By the 18 new or increased taxes that will cost taxpayers an estimated $771 billion from 2013 to 2022.

Joint Committee on Taxation, “Estimated Revenue Effects of a Proposal to Repeal Certain Tax Provisions Contained in the ‘Affordable Care Act (“ACA”),’” June 15, 2012, and Congressional Budget Office, “Table 2: CBO’s May 2013 Estimate of the Budgetary Effects of the Insurance Coverage Provisions Contained in the Affordable Care Act,” https://www.cbo.gov/sites/default/fi...013-05-ACA.pdf (accessed February 20, 2015). The total amount of tax revenue collected from the individual mandate, employer mandate, and 40 percent excise tax on high-cost health plans comes from the CBO’s May 2013 estimate. For all other taxes, the amount of tax revenue totaled comes from the Joint Committee on Taxation’s June 2012 estimation.

Eight Groups Harmed by the ACA’s Flawed Policies
February 23, 2015

8. The Uninsured. After a decade of full implementation, the CBO estimates that 31 million people will be without insurance in 2025.[17] The ACA requires Americans to purchase government-approved health coverage or pay an individual mandate penalty. Although the majority of uninsured will qualify for an exemption, millions will not. In fact, the CBO expects that in 2016, 4 million individuals will face the mandate penalty, totaling $4 billion.[18] Of those facing the penalty, 69 percent are expected to be below 400 percent of the federal poverty level.

well, it might out the erroneous thinking of those who propagated it more quickly, thus leading to healing from it...or, in this case, remove one's insulation from God--insurance--so to speak, causing increased personal responsibility...just lobbin grenades here, understand; i mean, ya, there will surely be more wealth transfer involved--when isn't there, nowadays--and poorer overall health, more people dying sooner...so, an accurate metaphor for our system as a whole lately, i guess.

I know a large corporation that cut out, some years ago, paying out emergency room costs for minor issues - colds, etc. They focused on broken limbs, etc.

A lot of people go to the doctor just because they can and not necessarily because they need to. I imagine that saved the corporation a load of money. I say that because I knew one of their employees who went and still does go to the doctor for any minor ailment.

I try fixing myself before I ever call a doctor. We can normally heal ourselves with a little personal care.
