Vestal Goodman: The Queen of Southern Gospel
An ode to Gospel singer Vestal Goodman.
I've long been a fan of Vestal's singing. I sing her song "I Wouldn't Take Nothing for My Journey Now" at my home church when I'm called forth to sing. I have several songs from the Happy Goodmans on my cell phone that I listen to quite often.
Despite not being Apostolic, I do honestly believe God anointed Vestal as a singer. I genuinely feel the Lord when I hear her sing. Of course, this has nothing to do with her 'talent' per se, but more because she is singing about Jesus and that anointing always seeps through.
Anyone else like Vestal's singing?

I like the videos that are on YouTube of Vestal and singer Johnny Cook friendly competing over who could sing the song "Looking For a City" in the highest note. They both could sing very well, but Vestal knocks that song out of the park!

Vestal had a wonderful voice. Her voice only richened as she got older.

Are false teachers also anointed by God? They do teach about Jesus.

Are you saying that the Goodmans are false teachers?

Yes, we oneness teach tithes, which is false doctrine.
God has to plug His nose to everyone to get their worship.

I loved Vesta and all the Goodman's. They all could sing. Anointed of God.
