Demonic Transference
Basically the belief that not only can we transfer what we have to others but apparently what THEY have can swim upstream.
I dont agree with the idea and I believe that its a tactic demons use to spread fear about abilities they do not actually have.
Legion had to ask permission to go into the swine, if we have the same power and authority as Christ because we literally have the Spirit of Christ, we shouldn't have to worry about demons jumping onto us.
What, they gonna kick Jesus out?
So, arguments for or against please using scripture and not tradition or old wives tales.
Seems like if it was a thing we should have been warned about it in scripture.

You just refuted it yourself!
There are no scriptural or Bible arguments in favour of supposed "demonic transferrence", so you will instead be greeted with anecdotes and scary bed time stories from people who themselves have questionable backgrounds or who are doctrinally off the wall.
You will also get straw man arguments ("Oh, so if there is no demon transfers going on then why isnt it okay to keep occultic stuff in the house?" etc etc) and probably a few personal attacks just to keep things interesting.

well....there was someone needing deliverence tonight....we knew it was going to manifest even before church started...well my wife went up to help pray and was told hands off at first but was later encouraged to pray....it really hurt her feelings because it was a pretty harsh rebuke all over "transference". She was like,"If anyone should be up here praying it should be me....ex possessed woman and all."
In all honesty it took way too much time playing around with it.
People are clueless about the power they have in Christ....we dont have to hide the kids...I mean the only way kids would be in danger is if we commanded them to go to them...we dont have to" cmbine
our power and join hands in a circle" thats witchcraft NOT operating in the Spirit.
Sorry...just frustrating.

Re: Demonic Transference
His NAME is Jesus!
I have a little question: is the issue before us taking for granted that the discussion
is about believers receiving a bad spirit? I mean SPIRIT-FILLED believers? Or... could there be people who are deceived into believing they are believers?

Demons are not absorbed through books by osmosis...you read and they set up strongholds in your mind with the information contained within.

Didn't Paul tell Timothy not to lay hands hastily on any man?
1st Timothy 5:22
" Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people’s sins; keep yourself pure."
From my own personal experience, believe it or not, I laid my hands on a woman and prayed for her, that same night I had a dream where some devils had entered my house and told me "we had to go somewhere", so my understanding is they left her and entered me.
I definitely believe that if you're not stronger than the demons inside someone, don't lay hands on the person or try to cast out the demons, remember the seven sons of Sceva?
If you have open doors and gaps in your armor, you could have some very unwelcome guests enter your house!

The 7 Sons of Sceva were non believer non spirit filled jewish exorcists...that comparison should not be used with spirit filled believers and its not about YOUR strength...its about who you have already in residence inside you.
you were not possesed by any evil spirits....they were lying and trolling you trying to create doubt and fear.
Also the instruction to Paul not to lay hands on anyone suddenly is referring to ordination.
