What is Nature of Original Sin?
Is original sin pride, selfishness or lust? what is the nature of original sin? do we overcome original sin through new birth? what is relationship between born again creature and original sin?

Re: What is Nature of Original Sin?
"Original sin" means one of three things:
1. The sin Adam committed in the Garden.
2. Our human nature, inherited by descent from Adam, which is condemned by God as sinful and which exposes all humans to condemnation unless they are regenerated.
3. Our human condition or state of condemnation by virtue of Adam's sin, as he was our 'federal head', and that his act was done by all of us corporately in him personally. Thus, Adam as our 'representative', sinned and incurred judgement upon all of us.
Other than #1, the 'original sin' doctrine is a false doctrine not found in Scripture.

Your post very succinctly presents what takes theologians many big thick books to "explain" (read--'Confuse').
I find that an interesting parallel between what happened in the Garden and John's writing in 1 John 2:16-- For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
These are the same temptations satan used on Eve and again on Jesus i the wilderness trial. Perhaps if we were taught better how to stand in these areas that "original sin" wouldn't be able to dog us so incessantly.

Agreed. What I would love to see and hear is more preaching on real holiness. Not 'makeup and hair, dresses and shoes' but heart purity, sanctification, the fruit of the Spirit... you know, all the old time good stuff that doesn't make for tickling the tummy or scratching the itchy ears...

Re: What is Nature of Original Sin?
Original sin is a very true BIBLICAL DOCTRINE. It is the result of Adam's sin that is passed down to each and every human the result being we are born sinners. It manifest itself in our natural bend toward sin.

I wonder if the Law of sin and death is not often confused with the doctrine of Original Sin in people's minds here. The Law of sin and death is irrevocable; the Doctrine of Original Sin is a completely different animal--and, as I mentioned on another thread, the facts of its adoption have been intentionally obscured from imo. OS is strictly Western Christian. A fatal premise. Peace!

I asked you these questions on that other thread so let me reask them here.
1. Do you believe that person is born innocent?
2. When do you believe that a person becomes defiled/ sinful?
3. How does a person become defiled/sinful?

I believe that every person is born with the sin nature.
