More Ignorance From "Law Enforcement"

When will cops ever get some guts and say "No. I'm not doing this?"

I would like to know what happened. That policewoman should be repreminded for outright lying. Why in the world would she tell him he could keep the pole then not do it??

It is cases like this that make it hard when you are trying to teach your kids to respect the law and policemen.

Re: More Ignorance From "Law Enforcement"

After reading the article on this page I was reminded of the difference between a republic and a democracy. We are taught the wonders of a democracy in our world today but we were not given a democracy. We were given a republic.

As was said in the early days of our nation... a democracy is 2 sheep and a wolf voting on what's for supper. A republic is the sheep having a gun.

In a democracy the majority can vote away the rights of the minority. In a republic your rights are your rights and no one can take them away.

But today in school our kids will be taught about how wonderful democracy is.

I would have to understand the reasons for removing them, whether they were on private property, and whether the residences were given fair notice with the options to relocate.

Hoovie,

If you google you can find articles about the video. One or more neighbors complained supposedly because they were concerned some kid might get hit by a car. I think the 86 year old neighbor was the main person.

The part that steamed me was the female officier just flat out lying to the guy telling him that they would leave his pole in the driveway and then they hauled it away. She ought to get in a lot of trouble for lying.

The 86 year old was inducted into the Pennsylvania Hall Of Fame in 2006 for starting a variety of youth sports leagues.

I guess he's had his fill of kids & sports.

And the business about being concerned some kid will get hurt. OH PLEASE!!!!! Nice try crazy people.

Yup I had seen that. Without knowing him don't know if he is a great kid loving guy or a cranky old man. Age changes people!

I discovered on a Transatlantic cruise a few years ago that was populated heavily with older retired people that for every inspiring elder citizen there must be at least ten old grouches who need to just go ahead and die!

Re: More Ignorance From "Law Enforcement"

The page D4T linked to said that the basketball pole was "angled toward the street." It went on to say that you could not have any trees or shrubs within 7 feet of the "free zone" either. Apparently a Delaware code.

They should have left the poles with the people. The basketball hoops could have been set up "correctly" and the kid's play time would have been undisturbed.
