Now the article doesnt say but there is no mention of a father, I assume there isnt one b/c she lives with her mom and dad..and she's fairly young, the article also states.

I have questions, some personal assumptions I'll keep to myself but I wonder:

1. who paid for the fertility treatment

2. why did they give fertility treatment to someone with 6 children already

3. who is going to support all these children? In my state she's automatically eligible for medical assistance just by having other children - did the state pay for it?

I have to refrain from saying anything else...

WHITTIER, Calif. – The woman who gave birth to octuplets this week has six other children and never expected to have eight more when she took fertility treatment, her mother said.

Angela Suleman said her daughter expects a big challenge raising 14 children. The good news, she said, is all the babies appear healthy.

"I looked at those babies. They are so tiny and so beautiful," Suleman told The Los Angeles Times on Thursday.

Suleman's daughter gave birth to the octuplets Monday at a hospital in Bellflower but has requested that doctors keep her name confidential. Media knew little about the woman until a family acquaintance told CBS' "The Early Show" on Thursday that the mother is "fairly young" and lives with her parents and her six children

I admit, I have opinions that are unfounded based on what little we know but I am looking at this from the perspective of one who is about to give birth to ONE baby (3.2.09 btw) and diapers are $15-$20 a pack - $30 if you get a case...and formula, etc...LAWD help us

now she has 8, on purpose???

and has 6 others, some are under 5!!!

this is why you cant always trust the media spin on things...

they focus on her living with her parents but the father said they have a larger house elsewhere.....

the news story I read doesnt say one thing about a father or anything like that...and it insuinuates about her having 6 other children.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought the worst when I read it....

But why am I surprised?
