Missionary Steve Willoughby - URGENT request
I know Bro. Willoughby's name came up in another thread but I know there are many on this forum who know him personally and might not read the other post.
I have been able to get more information on Bro. WIlloughby.
My information is that Bro. Steve and Sis. Barb are in the States and were ministering in the DC area on Sunday. Steve was preaching but was unable to continue and finish his sermon and Barb took over. He was later taken to the hospital. He was dizzy and one of his legs had gone numb.
Tests have revealed a tumor on his lung, a tumor in the rib cage and 2 tumors on the brain as well as a blood clot in the juglar vein. This all sounds almost unthinkable. More tests are being done. There is concern about doing any kind of surgeries at this point and also concerns of giving him blood thinner for the clot.
PLEASE lift up not only Steve, but his wife Barb who has been battling cancer and of course their children, Barak, Megan and Makala

Oh no........I'm going to tell Eddie this right now! They were friends many years ago; he always thought a lot of Steve and kind of kept up with him through my Mother In Law. That poor family has been through so much already with his wife.

We really need to hold them up in prayer. These are some very fine folks that God has used mightily.
The enemy would love nothing better than to take them down. I feel as though we need to break any curse that may have been sent against them in Jesus name!

Re: Missionary Steve Willoughby - URGENT request
Recent update through WNOP:
Dear Friends,
Some of you may be aware, that Senior Pastor Steve Willoughby has been undergoing tests following complaints of dizziness and numbness in his leg. Due to the worsening of these symptoms, he was hospitalised on Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. After a series of tests, the specialists have found tumors in his brain and a tumor in his lung. A biopsy will now be performed to determine the type and stage of the cancer. This news of course is devastating both to the Willoughby family and their church family, Tabernacle of Joy.
Your prayers for Bro Willoughby, Sis Barbara , Meghan, Barak and Mikayla at this time will be greatly appreciated. We, at Tabernacle of Joy, also covet your prayers for the entire church body. Updates on Bro Willoughby's condition and treatment plan will be updated on our website (www.tabjoy.org) as the information becomes available.
Trusting in Christ always,
Sandra Subner
On behalf of Pastor Timothy Lee
and the Tabernacle of Joy Board

Thank you for the post. We have been in touch with Steve's mother but to have an official statement from the church lets everyone know the validity of the reports.

Re: Missionary Steve Willoughby - URGENT request
I was so shocked when I heard the news!!! Bro. Willoughby was at Christian Life Center in Stockton, Ca for a couple weeks after Landmark. He was such a blessing!!! I was told that he is at stage four. Bro & Sis Willoughby have been attacked so much. What I admire is their love for God and their ministry. I will pray for a miracle. It's sad what is happening to Bro. Willoughby but then it is exciting to know that we serve a God who specializes in the impossible.

Re: Missionary Steve Willoughby - URGENT request
The following is part of an email I received this morning from Barb Willoughby
"The next few days they will determine the process of treatment. It will all be based off the findings in the lung. Please pray this test will show them they are wrong and that everything is fine. We need a good result from the findings."
I also received email from Steve's mom indicating that the oldest two children, Meghan and Barak, will be coming to the States this weekend from Singapore to be with Steve, Barb and the youngest child. Please pray for their safe travel.
