Local UPC church grows with the community

Excellent write up on this church!

During the United Pentecostal Church's 15-year anniversary celebration Jan. 11-13, the weekend was spent focusing on the theme “Home Folk: People Touched by Jesus.”

“It has been 15 straight years of growth. I don't know how long we can maintain it, but we are grateful for the Lord's goodness so far,” pastor and founder Greg W. Davis said of the church at 1120 S. Seventh St., DeKalb.

“My wife and I started the church on January 19th, 1993, as new church planters. Every year, we have had some kind of positive growth. Some years the growth was as little as 3 percent, but on average, it's been 7 percent. We keep growing as the community grows,” he said.
