Re: Republican Debate - 11/10/15

Gov. Jeb Bush

Establishes three individual tax brackets, with rates of 10%, 25%, and 28%. The top rate applies to taxable income over $85,750 for single filers and $141,200 for joint filers. Nearly doubles the standard deduction now taken by roughly two-thirds of all filers. Increases the standard deduction to $11,300 for single filers and $22,600 for joint filers. Eliminates the marriage penalty, expands the Earned Income Tax Credit, ends the estate tax, retires the Alternative Minimum Tax and ends the employee’s share of the Social Security tax on earnings for workers older than 67. Ends the step-up basis in capital gains for estates. Lowers the corporate rates from 35% to 20%. Allow for full expensing for capital investing. Would end the practice of world-wide taxation on U.S. businesses. Would assess a one-time tax of 8.75%, payable over 10 years, on the more than $2 trillion in corporate profits sitting overseas.

Taxing single filers at 28% on $85,750.00... It is that common sense approach that makes him not as attractive of GOP candidate.

Wasn't planning on it. Turned off from the previous debates. All mods just looking for a fight or gotcha questions. Not interested until February or March now.

Tonight is very important as it is about the economy and their economic plans. And Trump needs to take out Carson and Rubio. Hmmm......

You can watch the clips tomorrow.

I remember CNBC ran ads and promos about the last debate being about the economy and other issues. That debate was anything but what they claimed it would be.

I'll catch clips or watch a rerun if it turns out to have much substance. Based on the past debates, I'm not holding my breath.

The Moderators tonight are Maria Bartiromo, Neil Cavuto, and Gerard Baker. Baker is Chief Editor at both Dow and WSJ. Being they host and are involved in economic issues, I'm sure that is what the debate will be about.

Was reading at Breitbart that all three are big on free trade, (I'm sure making their own money), and might possibly try to sabotage the anti-TPP candidates - Trump and Cruz.

I'm sure they hate that Cruz called McConnell out on the carpet for lying about the back room deals, puling out of the TPA. And Trump has largely been opposed because of the trade manipulation, which he doesn't think they are able to negotiate.

Rubio is doing great tonight. I predict he moves into the top 2 soon. I'd vote for Rubio especially against Hillary.

But here's my concern about Rubio: I don't think he's tough enough to lead. He is certainly smart, he seems to be getting coached up very well by the establishment or campaign staff, and I think he'd stack up good against Hilary in debates and with Hispanics and in Florida.....I could see him winning...but I don't think he has the backbone to be the leader of the free world.

On the other hand, I think Ted Cruz has better ideas, but more importantly I think he could and would lead. I can see him him being firm, doing what he says, fighting when needed, and being a strong president.
