McCain Sneaks into Syria

Over the Memorial Day weekend, Sen. McCain made a trip to Turkey and slipped into Syria for a quick 2-hour meeting with the Syrian rebels.

When I first read this, I remembered a couple weeks ago McCain met with the President at the White House to talk about Immigration and other issues.

While it wasn't disclosed, Syria undoubtedly was discussed since the reports state:

Quote:
Spokesman Jay Carney said Tuesday that the White House was aware in advance of McCain's plans to travel to Syria. Carney declined to say whether McCain was carrying any message from the administration, but he said White House officials looked forward to hearing about his trip.

I know McCain has been very vocal and very critical of the President's policy towards Syria. Ironically, I happen to support the President's hesitance to become more involved in Syria's civil war.

Quote:
McCain’s visit came as the Obama administration is once again considering an increase of support to the Syrian opposition, while at the same time pushing the opposition council to negotiate with the regime at an international conference in Geneva in early June.

Re: McCain Sneaks into Syria

McCain has been quite vocal about helping the terrorist group(s) who are trying to overthrow the Syrian Government.

The Arab Spring has been so successful in destroying dictator governments in Egypt and Libya and replacing them with terrorist groups, I just can't wait to see what happens in Syria.

Re: McCain Sneaks into Syria

Oh boy, a report is claiming two men McCain posed for a picture with at the meeting kidnapped 11 Lebanese Shi’ite pilgrims.

With the close alliance of these rebels with AQ terrorists, I'm against any support (weapons, ammo, money, etc) being given to them. We just don't know who we're giving this stuff to.
