A government-run health insurance option is needed "to discipline insurance companies. If they can't compete, it's probably their fault. Many private insurers spend too much time thinking about profits instead of helping people."

The government (this government) would take a bad situation and make it worse.

I just don't like the government meddling with everything-I like small goverment. Looks good on paper I suppose.

I would rather have insurance companies making a large profit, and being lenient on what types of treatments are allowed, than have the government run it on a dime (or more likely, a deficit), and deny good options.

I want to be able to choose my own treatments from the options recommended to me by my PERSONAL doctor. NOT by some bureaucrat in Washington deciding in advance that anyone who has ___________ needs ___________. Or even by medical consultants who could give an informed opinion of the same.

IF the government does require a government run healthcare system THEY should be required to have and use the same system with NO exceptions!

They wouldn't even consider doing it because they know it is a horrible idea.
