No, Laura's suit was $2500 and Cindy's dress $3000 - - - it was Cindy's 3 carat diamonds that were the chunk of change and no one knows for sure if they were real, borrowed or passed down to her.

I also would wonder about thier ablility to manage the nations budget?I mean Ive always had the attitude that if you can earn enough to be extravegant then do it...but that is just stupid I dont care how much money you have ...or am I just a poor county boy who dosent get?
I could not believe any dress will be over $300,000 so I did some search. It is NOT the dress that is $300,000. The dress is only 1 percent of that, $3000. It is the diamonds that cost that much, something that she can wear over the years and leave to one of her daughters. The jewels is less than what they give to charity.

Cindy McCain
Oscar de la Renta dress: $3,000
Chanel J12 White Ceramic Watch: $4,500
Three-carat diamond earrings: $280,000
Four-strand pearl necklace: $11,000–$25,000
Shoes, designer unknown: $600
Total: Between $299,100 and $313,100

Re: Do I still vote for McCain after this?

The woman is worth $100 million.
It was a very special occasion. So she got dressed up for the occasion. Big deal.

The jewelry was expensive, but it wasnt gaudy or ostentatious.

So his wife wore a pair of 3 Carat earrings. so what?
I dont see why this has any relevance as to John McCain's fitness to be president... or why someone would decide to vote for Obama because of this. This really is a non-issue .
