As a Libertarian I would tend to agree with the overall assesment in the article, as a generally hard left, neary volunteerist I do think the taxation , that is unwilling forced giving to any and all things done by the state, does reduce some of the nordic areas below my own threshold for more or less libertarian.
It is interesting though that these places do have great infrastructure, and school systems. Not sure how they stand on religious freedom, or freedom from religion invading the state, which is particularly impotant if your main immigration is arriving from areas of Sharia law and you have a more democratic and less a republic in your parlimentary system. Democracy is as soneone else said, " two wolves and a sheep voting on whats for dinner". Which if you only value being sure of what you are going to get is better than the idiocracy running amok since the Taft Presidency at least.
