Can Texas make alone economically?

When Texans start realizing they'd be a country with the 15th largest economy in the world, and would become as wealthy as Switzerland almost overnight, they will be filing for a divorce from the money grabbing USA...

Unfortunately, Texas is being inundated with folks from outside who don't share Lone Star values.

Also, the apparatchiks are fully in bed with Uncle Sam and his seemingly unlimited slush funds, and DC is not about to let Texas go, so it would not be a peaceful separation, more like a 'shotgun divorce'.

What needs to happen is all 50 states need to 'secede' from DC, and reconstitute a new federal government, rather than one or two states seceding from the Union.

ya, like that would be amicable; if it were even possible. If you have pledged allegiance to the flag, 2A is a responsibility that is currently being shirked, as you have just admitted.

Who cares about a piece of cloth? It's what that cloth represented originally that counts. And the original intent of the Framers has been cast aside by Washington. Texas may leave the Union NOT because they are anti-American, but because in all reality they ARE America.

ya, not sure i could argue there, but it does seem to me that if you accepted the Constitution in the good times, you are bound to contemplate your responsibilities to it in the bad. Not that i much like what that means, either. Maybe secession is a good step in that direction, dunno.

The Constitution is not the problem. It's the ignoring of the Constitution by the left that is driving Texas towards independence.

This doesn't make any sense. The second amendment is being shirked by states and Congress, in they have failed to provide for the militia and in fact have constantly interfered and opposed the militia of the several states.

Has nothing to do with any vows made to any flags in keeping with the national socialist Bellamy pledge.

Re: Can Texas make alone economically?

um, ok, but at a guess i'd say that our posterity is going to puzzle over why we gave our authority in 2A over to those in whose interests it surely is not as well; i mean, i would only expect a strong government to want a weak militia?

and these would apply to those who pledge allegiance to the state, not quite sure where you stand there.
