***JG says he's not going anywhere!!***

I heard with my own ears JG tell another minister that he is NOT planning on leaving the UPC and Tulsa will NOT be a UPCI bashing party. He also said that Tulsa is NOT to announce or plan a new organization but rather to fellowship like-minded ministers.
This will be a big blow to all the ultra-cons that were thinking Tulsa was going to be the launch of a new Conservative Organization.

But the UPC is just a "ministerial fellowship"... so they need another "ministerial fellowship" to supplement their existing fellowship?

When the basic premise for your faith is that you are "better" than anyone else it is frequently necessary to try and prove that you really are better than others. Thus we have "fellowships" that only a select few are truly qualified to be in.

It is much more Biblical to have Jesus Christ as the standard of fellowship along with the understanding that all of our righteousness is as "filthy rags." This does mean that you may have to fellowship those you consider "unworthy" of your presence; but that is good for the soul.

Likeminded men are always going to want to have close fellowship...be they liberal, moderate, or conservative.

How I would love it if Tulsa were just a networking meeting of conservatives who intend to stay in the UPC, or rather, of those who are both staying and leaving, who are pledging to continue to fellowship regardless of organizational affiliation.

Can someone please answer the question as to why does the TV issue have to be a dividing line? No one voted to have a TV in a ministers home. They only received the ok to advertise and minister on it if they choose. Where is the sin in that? That question has never been answered and can't be answered with anything that makes sense. No one is making you change anything you are doing.

To most, it was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. TV in and of itself was not the only issue, just the one final issue that some feel took a slow moving land drift and started a downhill mudslide.

I have held the view from the inception of this latest ideological debate, that the real issue is a doctrinal divide which has been fermenting for a long time. JMO

He is just one bean in the dip. There is no reason to have the meeting other than to widen the divide.

If they quit major in minors, the GC has thousands of like-minded believers. It's when one gets anal retentive that the number of like-minded believers shrinks.

The meeting will have all the elements of a divisive gathering. The only thing the meeting will be missing is the spritiual white sheets.
