... and all the other political right-wingers.
I will be onstage with Barbara Bush on December 1st with the rest of the Red River Chorale at Guinn Auditorium on the Louisiana College Campus.
We will be doing most of Handel's "Messiah" and she will be reading some sort of Christmas story.
I'm sitting here practicing the five chorus pieces we will sing: in addition to the well-known "Hallelujah" ... "And The Glory" ... "And He Shall Purify" ... "For Unto Us A Child Is Born" ... "Glory to God" ... and "Worthy Is the Lamb."
You old National Music Ministry Conference goers?
You may remember in 1978 when the Mass Choir (including the JCM and First UPC choirs) sang "Hallelujah", "And The Glory" and "Worthy."
I have to give Lanny Wolfe credit there. He got us singing those very demanding pieces in a short time.
And in 1978, singing Handel at a the premier UPC music conference during the UPC's "golden age" and getting people to worship to it was quite visionary.
Thad?
I still say you should forget the "shockamoo" and repeating the same phrase over and over 1 million times and teach your choir the "Hallelujah" chorus.
Let them branch out a little.
