From the need of a term to describe a person fitting the need of a pastor who wishes another pastor to work with him.

So it's a man made position in the church.

No. It's a man made LABEL...helping the pastor or the church in any capacity is Biblical on principle alone.
P.S. Apostolic, Pentecostal, Bible, & Oneness are ALSO "man made" labels.

but a very powerful position. Who takes the pastorate if there is a co-pastor in place if the pastor leaves.
Does there still have to be a vote?

So is "janitor." Or here's one... "soundman." "Electrician?" "HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning)?" No Bible for any of that.

I wouldn't say it's label but a position in the church.
If someone asked a copastor what's your position in the chuch, he would probbaly say copastor, not I don't have one but I'm labeled a copastor.
I do agree that we use many unbiblical labels and sure stick with bible.

Is voting biblical?
