October Pastors Appreciation Month

Just wanted to know if anyone has/is doing anything for their pastor for "Pastor's Appreciation" month?

I usually do a dinner for the pastor and his family and friends. We usually have about 20-30 in attendance.

This year we are doing a "Thanksgiving" theme.

Menu

Salads
Potato Salad
Fruit Salad

Meats
Hen and Dressing
Turkey
Ham (2)

Vegetables
Cranberry Sauce
Purple Hull Peas
Corn
Broccoli and Cheese Casserole
Sweet Potato Casserole
Green beans
Glazed Carrots

Bread
Rolls

Desserts
Sweet Potato Pie
Diabetic Lemon Pie
Chocolate Cake
Coconut Cake
Pecan Pie
Pudding or Cobbler
Pumpkin Pie

Did we leave anything out?

Hope they enjoy. I love my pastor and his family!

Well, we do different things every year, usually it is a month-long thing culminating with the actual Sunday being the big day. This year there has been a lot going on so it was a little pared down, the childrens choir Sun. morning had different kids go to the microphone and tell the pastor what they appreciated about him, and then take him a card they had made. Then Sun. night they had different people (4 or 5, a cross-section of the congregation) talk about what the pastor had meant to them, and then they (he and his wife) were given a love offering (taken earlier in the month). One year we did jars filled with different prayers that people had written for the pastor, that he could pull out and read when he felt he needed encouragement. Another we did a floral arrangement filled with gift cards from all the places that he and his wife liked to shop/eat at. The personalized things are always the most meaningful. I'm sure your pastor always enjoys the dinner that you describe!
