I remember as a kid when I would visit my maternal grandmother she would watch Brother Rex every time he was on TV. If memory serves me correctly, wasn't he the minister that Elvis considered his pastor? I believe he spoke at Elvis' funeral when he passed.

I used to watch him once in a while on tv.
I used to call him Rex Humbug.
I've repented of that attitude many years ago.

When I was a kid I did not grow up in a Christian home. So anytime that I got in trouble for anything and got grounded, it also meant I was grounded from going to church. On those Sundays (which were way too many ) I would tune in to watch Rex Humbard and company. I was too young to know if he was right or wrong. I just knew that his program met a need in my life.

I vaguely remember his show from the seventies and early eighties. Not long before it kind of fell apart he had build a new church with a really cool revolving platform designed for the TV program. As a TV director and producer I could appreciate the possibilities!
