*** Why does Pentecost Seem to Attract Some of the Coolest People ***
Having been raised in the church, and in and around the ministry, for 34 years, I have noticed an awesome trend. It seems Pentecost attracts some of the coolest people I know. Is it possible that the high emotional setting in which our churches function is at the center of this trend?

Everybody loves a parade, an accident scene, the circus and the church of
whats happening now!!
Now if we could stop UPC churches from complaining about other UPC churches being dead, maybe....just maybe...

When I was with Promise Keepers, the men's choir director asked the group of fellas "Who in the choir had ever been in a United Pentecostal Church??" He wasn't from the UPC, but he was one of the most awesome choir directors I had ever seen from a leadership and technicial standpoint. One or two guys raised their hands.
He went on to tell how people in the UNITED PEN-TI-COSTAL CHURCH (he liked saying the whole name) sang like they were trying to send each and every word through the clouds straight up to the throne.
He was a pretty cool guy. Kind of looked like Beetoven sp? in Khakis, and Gucci.

That was an excellent way to put it (Beethoven-man), not to mention the "SOUL" sound many have!

Oh for sure, but for the most part they set some of the styles........and shoes, honey we can wear the BEST shoes!
I think one of the differences is we dress up more than the normal church going crowds.
I know I had a full closet of dressy, church clothes where my friends that didn't go to church or just went to other churches had 3-4 dressy outfits. I couldn't understand how they could survive - - - lol!!!!!
