Update on Brazil work

“All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For the Kingdom is the Lord’s and He rules over the nations.”
Psalm 22:27-28

Dear Homeland Friends:
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is life changing and thus thousands of Brazilians have had their lives completely changed over the last 40 years. Even so the challenge is ever before us to reach more souls, more villages, more cities and states with this gospel before it is everlasting too late.

Our son and team just returned from the long, difficult and dangerous mission in the far state of Maranhao. God has been with them on every trip and the 16th of Aug. they are moving up there and desperately need your prayers. We are still collecting good used clothing and shoes and asking for your help to buy them household items as they are moving up there with just their clothes! We need to try to help them get 3 beds, a table, stove and if possible a refrigerator. There’s nothing easy about missions. I won’t kid you – there’s a price to be paid for serving Jesus. The harvest in this far area is truly is plentiful. The extent and duration of this harvest still depends largely upon your support to get it on it’s feet. YOU are their channel of life giving blessings!
We are so glad for the harvest that is taking place around the world. This includes a great number of very remote places. Pastor Milton and Sister Jane are in the process of moving to the state of Ceara to work as national missionaries. We are working hard to raise up national missionaries. Pastor Jose Roberto and Sister Wilma are moving to South Brazil and Paraguay boarder to open up new works and serve as national missionaries. National missionaries are in their own land so there is no need for them to have to run to the states every little bit for they are home. They know the culture and the people. They can choose the proper leaders and can get around much easier than foreigners.. What they build, they own. It’s not just giving it to them its letting them build it. From the buildings to the ministry, it has to be theirs. It has always been our burden to raise up strong national leaders. A national work is the type work that stood the tests of time in China and other countries that were taken over by communists. Our vision has become Their Vision, Their Ministry, Their Hearts and we have no problem with that conception. In fact we feel and know it is the best plan. As you help us we are helping them, teaching them and sending them out to their own people. We are involved with mission programs trying to teach our people to set up missions in each church and reach out to help others. That is the Bible way. It would have been much easier for us to have chosen another route but we chose a long difficult route but one that is working with or without us. God has raised up strong national leadership. We are thankful that many of those who were raised in or around our home are today taking part in this work. Pastor Hugo is working full speed ahead with the Paraguay project.
We are not saying American missionaries are not needed for they are! But over the years (40) we have found that our best helpers have proved to be the Brazilians for it is their country.
We are blessed with a host of Brazilians that are giving their all to world missions. Any help that you can offer in these most worthy and strategic projects will be greatly appreciated.
Sister McBride the owner of Thrift for missions has many boxes ready to send to the mission field but needs funds to do so. The cost of sending a nice size box runs about 100.00. That may seem a lot to you but you cannot imagine the blessing it is to receive clothes for people who practically have nothing at all. You may send direct to her at this address: Nancy McBride 298 North Pleasant St. Decaturville, Tn. 38329. Please make all checks payable for this project to Thrift for missions and she can send you a receipt for tax purposes.
All other monies should be sent to our home address: P.O. Box 797 Jonesville, La. 71343. All men desperately need to know the way of salvation.
Please remember our son and his family that will be working in remote jungle areas along with many others that are answering the missionary call.
We deeply appreciate your help in missions for that is the heartbeat of God.

“Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all…” 1 Chronicles 16:24 – 25
