Church of Fools

Psalm 14
1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Proverbs 14:9
9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

Galatians 3:1
1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

2 Corinthians 11:23
23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

When we consider that the world is laughing at homosexuality, promiscuity, murder, and mayhem on tv, what of those among our ranks who also do so? Is it wrong for the sinner only to make a mock at sin?

What of those among us who clearly don't care about what God thinks about their lives and the holiness that His word says should be there but isn't? We declare that the world is guilty of this, yet it is okay for the church?

The church has become bewitched by the things of this world. Entertainment is the mani focus of the hour. It is no longer about living for God, but living for the next movie or the next ballgame or some other form of worldly entertainment.

Paul was a fool for Christ. He was willing to abandon all that he grew up knowing and believing so that he could serve God to the fullest. He was willing to do whatever it took to reach the lost even if it meant that he was going to jail or deserved a beating. It didn't matter to him.

The world think we are foolish for walking away from its vices. Yet, one need only listen to the news to see that we are right in our stance.

The San Diego Padres recently had a family day geared towards young men, around age 14. It was later found out that the sports team had sponsored the LA Gay Men's Chorus to sing the National Anthem. This really promotes family, doesn't it?
Rosie O'Donnel grabbed at her privates during a rendition of our Anthem. Good clean fun, isn't it?
People throw liquor bottles at players and referees during games out of anger. Setting a good example, aren't they?

Movies promote wtchcraft in the name of Harry Potter. Just what you want for your kids, huh?
They also promote promiscuity so that now we have many children getting pregnant. Way to go, isn't that right?
Homosexuality is used as a basis for a lot of current humor. Just what we should be laughing at, isn't it?
Murders are given free reign many times on programs. Good, clean, and it's just fantasy so it's okay, isn't it?

These are things that many in the church are looking at. The world calls us fools for abstaining from this junk. Many in our own ranks dare to label us in the same manner.
Yes, I am in a church of fools. What kind of fool are you?
