Dan, I am begining to wonder how much of this "life changing" stuff is hype and how much of it is really life changing.
In my opinion someone would have to be pretty much lifeless, souless, and spiritually shallow if every sermon on every night would result in a "life changing" experience. I am sure those who are constantly re-inventing themselves like Maddona, Cher, Britney Spears and others would welcome a weekly life changing event.
This is one thing about pentecost that just drives me up the wall! We are always promoting the most powerful revival and move in the history of our church, this is the best, the utmost, and utterly the highest volume of life changing stuff ever! woohoo! Blech.
Frankly my life right now is most in need of consistency, integrity, and character and does not need to be changed all that much if at all by the emotional plea.
