Seeking Andrew Urshan information
In a 1963 General Conference sermon, Andrew Urshan stated he had the Oneness Revelation in 1910. He shared it with Haywood, Durham and Ewart, but they did not accept or understand it. I have also read written statements by Urshan where he mentioned teaching the oneness doctrine in 1910. Where these writings are in my mess, I could not say.
Does anyone have knowledge of this or where I could find this information?

Re: Seeking Andrew Urshan information
Try Thinking in the Spirit: Theologies of the Early Pentecostal Movement by Douglas Jacobsen. Chapter 4 is called "Oneness Options" and covers Andrew Urshan at length.

From the book (p. 239)
Quote:
Later in his life, Urshan claimed that he received this revelation in 1910, a full two years before the Oneness Movement began...
|
There is an attached footnote:
Urshan, The Life Story of Andrew bar David Urshan, 139-141.

Re: Seeking Andrew Urshan information
Isn’t he the guy that claimed to have met the Antichrist? Or was that someone else?

Pretty sure that was a descendant, perhaps Joel? EB and Mike Blume had a thread about it.

Re: Seeking Andrew Urshan information
Ewarts biography makes no mention of Urshan sharing Oneness with him 4 years earlier than he brought it forth.

Re: Seeking Andrew Urshan information
Yes, Urshan said he had the revelation in 1910.
Yes, Ewart said the revelation came in 1913 at Arroyo Seco, Pasadena, California.

Re: Seeking Andrew Urshan information
The reason I asked (Originalist) if you had read his biography is that I have. I’m almost certain that Brother Andrew Urshan mentioned the “New Issue” (oneness versus trinity) in the book. (Or is quoted as mentioning it). I got the impression that he was exposed to it from others.
I also remember him baptizing in Jesus name as though that were a new doctrine to him. Maybe I’m conflating the two issues. I need to read the book again, if I can find it

What's funny about that is Parham baptized in Jesus' name way back in at least 1904-1905 (if I recall correctly), even though he was never technically Oneness.
