They were called the Galli who were castrated and dressed like the goddess.
Their castration was to emulate the goddess Cybele the Great Mother's consort Attis. Who was gored by a boar during a hunting accident. Castrating him. His blood fell to the earth, and a pine tree grew where he bled and died. Pine trees decked with colored pine cones were used in festivals dedicated to Cybele. Her priests dressed like their goddess, and were castrated to represent the consort of the goddess. So America is circling the drain, and everything that was old is new again. All I can say is, we must vote harder, maybe Trump will come back and make everything right.
