The office of an Apostle vs the office of a Prophet

Okay, maybe "vs" isn't a proper word to use.

Let's contrast and distinguish between the two. I have encountered several recently who seem to have confused the two offices.

Besides the calling from God, what fruits of ministry distinguish one office from the other.

I believe the Apostle is a church-starter and the Prophet is, well a Prophet . . . used in the prophetic gifts.

this is not the direction you was heading... and I really don't care either way...

I wouldn't want to be an Apostle. That office is hard to define.
I'd settle for 2nd in command.... a weeping Prophet, if you will.

Not necessarily, since HM is comprised a lot of "Pastors," and an Apostle is not a Pastor, or vise versa.

So you believe gifts put someone on a higher plane than Teachers, Pastors and Evangelists?

All of whom could be used in Gifts of the Spirit. None of the hocus-pocus I know where your keys are that seems to have swept our movement.

I don't believe that's what I said. I don't believe that at all.

These are different offices. One isn't higher, or lower than another. Though I think we've elevated the office of Pastor above that of the rest, which I don't believe is right.

I came into Penny-cost under an Evangelist who I watched with mine own eyes be used in all nine Gifts. I later married into a Family where a man started 31 churches in 50 yrs- a true Apostole. I consider my current Pastor on equal footing of hearing from God and preaching until I bawl my eyes out sometimes.

Maybe I am too simple to catch on to this celebrity status seen for the last 25 yrs or so.
