Re: Aretha Franklin Funeral Order of Service
Longest. Funeral. Service. Ever.
And I guarantee you it will be longer.
There's no way this schedule holds up. 5 minutes for TD Jakes? 5 minutes for Bill Clinton?
5 minutes for a song by Shirley Cesar AND Vanessa Bell Armstrong?
This funeral could go into the early evening.
I hope people bring drinks and snacks.

Re: Aretha Franklin Funeral Order of Service
It is almost like a music festival.
If I were invited, I'd probably decline to go. I'm not sure if I could even sit that long for a funeral. Besides, after the first hour, I think it would get boring for me. If I were going to make an entire day of a musical event, I'd rather go to Bonnaroo. lol

Re: Aretha Franklin Funeral Order of Service
Didn't realize the funeral was being held at Greater Grace Temple -- PAW, Bishop Charles Ellis II.
I couldn't do it, sorry. Could not, would not have Farrakhan, Bill Clinton, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton sitting there behind the pulpit or speaking behind the pulpit.
Great seeing "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism" on the pulpit though.

Re: Aretha Franklin Funeral Order of Service
Per Twitter, the funeral started over 30 minutes late. I'm a little surprised it didn't start later.

Re: Aretha Franklin Funeral Order of Service
I turned it on just in time to hear Sharpton bash Trump.
Off it goes.
Stay on that Democrat Plantation like a good slave, Sharpton!

Wow. I'd turn it off too.
You know how I feel about getting men waxing political behind pulpits. So, I can relate to your feelings on this one.
And, to compound the problem by using a funeral that is intended to reflect on the memory of a person, their contribution to our lives, and to comfort the grieving family to make a political statement is absolutely tasteless. The late Aretha Franklin, and her surviving family, deserve more, R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

"""I miss spelled "Respect" and a lot of ya'll corrected me. Now I want ya'll to help me correct President Trump to teach him what it means."""
He says this at a funeral to honor Aretha Franklin. Apparently he doesn't know what it means, either.
