Ties - guys really?

Do men, really like ties?

I hate 'em, other men have said they do to. To satisfy curiosity- am I a minority in that position?

I do wonder as they have nearly 100 years of history, why have we just not said no?

I love them. I love bow ties too, but I don't know how to tie those. I have tried and I have failed at learning how to tie bow ties.

My neck is too thick so I can’t button the top button on a dress shirt. Add a tie and it just looks stupid.

Aren't ties mostly just necklaces for men?

I do not like them. However I do bend to tradition and wear them on occasion (weddings and funerals mostly). I would almost support a standard of preaching against them though. (Sorry, I know you said this was not a standard thread.)
