Things that divide us

I'm becoming more and more sadly aware of the things that divide OPs.

Some of the things I think are worth fighting for like clarity about the new birth and the oneness of God because I feel these things are a matter of salvation. And I am often shocked at the way OPs are deviating from what I think are the basics.

I wonder if I have offended others because my standards are not as strict in relation to things like facebook, cell phones, the shoes I am comfortable wearing, ect. I hope I have never caused offense over such things, if I did it was thoughtless and not intentional.

I'm painfully aware that the organization I belong to is objectionable to probably most of you, even though we are of like precious faith. I'm even shocked at some of the hatred expressed. I'm realizing more and more that I don't really belong here.

What I do enjoy are some of the posts I have read that I have learned a great deal from. Many of you are scholars and are great at in depth explanations, and I admire that.

Underneath it all, I feel a love towards you as my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I concur with Michael the Disciple. You don't need to go.

As for "hate", I think you are mistaken. Nobody hates anyone on AFF. We probably are all guilty of being over-zealous, impatient and condescending with those we feel are being over-zealous, impatient, and condescending! But there is no hatred.

No, we do not all agree on every point. But that is what personal growth is about. We are all obliged to seek the face of God concerning the correct interpretation of his word. It's called "working out one's own salvation".

You definitely don't need to go. This place makes just about everyone feel like they don't belong, sooner or later. I stick around because there's a few people whose insight and experience I highly respect (even if I may disagree with them on a few things). Also because there's so many goof balls here, SOMEBODY has to straighten them out!

Seriously though, I have greatly enjoyed your posts, they have definitely helped inspire me in several directions of study I might never have taken otherwise.

Besides, I'm still working on that prophecy booklet. So how would you get a copy if you aren't here when it gets done and I post a download link?

Please stay with our little band Amanah!

I love how you bring balance to all of this. We ARE a diverse group and have so many opinions. Yes we argue. It seems the apostles did too. Your thoughts and gentle post keep me going. I see we have only ten posters but we need you!

Amanah, leaving the group only promotes the very division that troubles you. Leaving isn't going to solve anything. Leadership is not about an office. It's about influence. You can be a leader by influencing people towards what is true, holy, and right. Believe it or not, forums are a way to do this. It often takes years to see the shift, but when you do, you realize that you were a part of that change. We need good and balanced people, like you, sharing their thoughts on every Apostolic forum in Pentecost.

Please stay.
