Here is my take on this article, totally biased by my viewpoint I admit.
POTUS is telling the truth in saying that Scotland Yard had the bomber in their sights.
PM May is playing the politically correct game of not wanting to tell the truth (which might stir up the public).
Also, my opinion is that almost all world leaders will sacrifice a few of their people in an effort to achieve multi-cultural nirvana.
No one, including POTUS (although he gets close) will admit that the Muslim ideology is not compatible with western values.
That we will continue to suffer these terror attacks unless we deem the Muslim religion as not a religion, but an ideology.
And ban it from our shores.
Now, could this result in another "world war" with Muslims attacking Christians wherever they can.
I would say that it could, except they already seem to do that.

The public leaders are hired frontmen, they do what they are told to do. There is an age-long agenda to destroy "western civilization" and it includes Islamic jihad as a tool to accomplish that, along with "multiculturalism".
It will require Christians to drop all the pretended PC nonsense, and realize it's either traditional Christian culture, or Islamic conquest, Babylonian degeneracy, and socialist tyranny, that will hold sway.
The multicult lie of "coexistence" is foisted on Westerners as a form of societal AIDS, weakening our cultural immune system, allowing invading pathogens to infect the body politic, leading to its eventual and inevitable death. The only solution is a rigorous, relentless, and realistic policy of no quarter to the enemy.
"Neither give place to the devil." That includes no place in our schools, politics, laws, institutions, child raising, etc.
There is no other way.
