DOJ Appoints Special Prosecutor!
"""The Justice Department has appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel to investigate Russia's involvement in the U.S. election."""
""""In my capacity as acting attorney general I determined that it is in the public interest for me to exercise my authority and appoint a special counsel to assume responsibility for the matter," Rosenstein said in a statement.
"My decision is not a finding that crimes have been committed or that any prosecution is warranted. I have made no such determination. What I have determined is that based upon the unique circumstances, the public interest requires me to place this investigation under the authority of a person who exercises a degree of independence from the normal chain of command."""

Re: DOJ Appoints Special Prosecutor!
Appointing a special prosecutor is a good thing for Trump. Congress was getting serious about appointing a special panel to investigate Russia, which would have been a nightmare, with leaks given to the press and likely years to complete.
Since Mueller was a former Director of the FBI, he has security clearance. His working in both the W and obama administration should help as well.

Re: DOJ Appoints Special Prosecutor!
What do you think about Paul Ryan admitting that he believed back in 2016 that Trump was receiving money from Putin, directly?

Who cares what the Russkies think? And since Trump and his supporters say there's nothing to the claims, this should be done and over pretty quickly.

Re: DOJ Appoints Special Prosecutor!
"Evan McMullin, who in his role as policy director to the House Republican Conference participated in the June 15 conversation, said: “It’s true that Majority Leader McCarthy said that he thought candidate Trump was on the Kremlin’s payroll. Speaker Ryan was concerned about that leaking.”
McMullin ran for president last year as an independent and has been a vocal critic of Trump.
When initially asked to comment on the exchange, Brendan Buck, a spokesman for Ryan, said: “That never happened,” and Matt Sparks, a spokesman for McCarthy, said: “The idea that McCarthy would assert this is absurd and false.”"

And this means what? I know people connected to other people. Means zilch. There are Democrats in Congress who are "connected" to people who are "connected" to Russians diplomats and officials.
Here's a term to think about : McCarthyism.

McMullin is definitely an objective source.
