Judges playing politics

Ironic how when the shoe is on the other foot, things change.
Here are two stories where the Dems showed their hypocrisy.

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked any attempt by the Trump administration to withhold funding from "sanctuary cities" that do not cooperate with U.S. immigration officials, saying the president has no authority to attach new conditions to federal spending

Re: Judges playing politics

And now the judge turns out to be a big BHO supporter.

The same judge issued a restraining order in 2015 against the advocacy group responsible for undercover videos purporting to show Planned Parenthood employees plotting to sell baby organs.
At the time, The Federalist found that Orrick raised at least $200,000 for Obama and donated more than $30,000 to groups supporting him.

We are rapidly descending into a third-world country.

Re: Judges playing politics

Not surprised. The biggest achievement of obama was to stack the lower courts with activist judges.

Isn't the idea of sanctuary cities biblical? I know that ancient Israel was commanded to have six cities of refuge where someone guilty of manslaughter could flee in order to have a safe trial and dwell in safety.

While the crime of these illegals isn't manslaughter, the notion of having cities to which people can flee and have their grievances heard is a just one.

Many of these people have families here; daddies, mommies, and children. For the state to just barge in like the Gestapo to arrest, detain, and deport without regard for the others such action is affecting is draconian.

Personally, I believe Trump is just using illegals as a political scapegoat to give the base something to rally around. Of course, they don't care one bit that families are being destroyed, they only care about the letter of the law.

Personally, I'm for Amnesty. Amnesty would save families, relieve the terror, end the exploitation, and generate more tax revenue.

This isn't OT Israel.

More amnesty would do what Reagan's amnesty did -- encourage more illegal entry. We're a nation of laws. I can't expect to rob a bank and not be prosecuted. These illegals shouldn't expect to enter the US illegally and then be rewarded with citizenship. I get they have families here. They should have thought about that before breaking the law.

Note the bold. According to your own reasoning, they should still be prosecuted for their crimes. So-called "Sanctuary" cities are just enabling criminals to get away with their crimes. And they are criminals. The very act of being here illegally makes them criminals.
