Ummm...They quite often bring up Israel, but misquote so many scriptures, but maybe we can start a draft Bro. Benincasa movement one of these days. You game?

Re: Landmark
I was at Landmark on 4 occasions. Great music and preaching. For CLC alumni, it is a chance to see old college friends.
I have not been to one since graduation.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Landmark
Never been.
This showed up in my FB newsfeed, an alleged prophecy allegedly given to Jack Cunningham of UPCI fame, by the Lord.
Copied and pasted as is:
Quote:
ALERT: More to report about prophecy that was given to Pastor Jack Cunningham last night the UPCI Landmark Conference . Pastor Cunningham went to his retreat in the mountains and went on a fast and prayer .. The Lord spoke and gave this man of God a prophetic Word ! God told him 5 things that will be happening and below i will list them: 1. God said that He is going to give us Space for Grace . God is giving us more time and opportunity to bring people to Him! 2. God is bringing the Church an unprecedented revival , like one that you have never experienced before ! 3. Pastor asked God " What do we the church need to do?" The Lord said for each saint to bring people to the church and He will bring himself there and show His presence . God said not to argue doctrine or politics as He will bring in His presence and have a mighty move of God ! The Lord also said to achieve His work , He wants to bless people with finances that can be trusted and He is already starting ! So unexpected blessings to people that will use it for His purpose and His growth in the Kingdom! 4.The Prodigals are going to come to their senses and come back to the church! The Prodigals will be involved in drugs , they will be in addiction to them and alcohol . God is going to bring them home so all those parents out there with addicted children can now see that our Lord is bringing them back! 5. The Church will now have their attention be brought to the scripture about the end times and the returning of our Lord and the rapture . The Lord says that " Our response to God and what He is saying to the church is just as significant to God . So it is important how we respond to this message! Now at the end of this conference the Lord told this Pastor that people at the convention would have a miracle of being healed in all aspects of their life . Well at the end the hands that went up that received this blessing and the healing was overwhelming .. Oh and the students at the Christian Life College are also being woke up in the middle of the night getting Word and scripture given to them by God!! God bless you all and let us walk into this truth and prophetic Word of the Lord!!

Re: Landmark
Sounds like stuff I used to hear in charismatic churches.

Re: Landmark
I miss hearing Kenneth Haney preach. He reminds me of the tribal elders I meet with. Full of meaningful perspective that grew out of decades of reflection.
Kenneth Haney was the best biographical preacher I ever heard. I still remember his sermons about Joesph.
The last conversation I had with him was over the phone. It was about a year before his illness. His counsel and advice still bring a smile to my face.
I hope to see Dan Segraves when I visit ST. Louis this spring. We were fortunate to have him as a theology teacher.
Liz Haney posted a video of singing from Landmark on her Facebook page. Good music.
