Official Trump's Election Promises Made Good
1,000 jobs saved in Indiana!!! He brokered a deal with Carrier who was planning a move to Mexico! Making America Great Again!
https://www.google.com/amp/www.foxne...?client=safari
Quote from the article:
Carrier workers reacted with delight at the news.
“I would like to tell [Trump] 'Thank you for going out of your way and taking your holiday away from your family and working on Carrier employees and sticking to your word and going to bat for all of us and keeping our jobs here,'” Robin Maynard, a Carrier employee for 24 years, told "Fox & Friends" Wednesday.
Another quote:
“This is the power of the presidency, this is the power of a team coming in that is so focused on our economy and helping to create and save American jobs, to protect American jobs that are here, this saves 1,000 jobs, this is huge,” Miller told Fox News Channel.
He also hinted that there could be a number of similar announcements in the pipeline.
“It’s not just here with Carrier, we’re going to see some future announcements as well, with some other companies that are already working behind the scenes,” he said. “This is fundamentally going to help our manufacturing industry and so many other industries.”
The Carrier announcement comes after Ford Chairman Bill Ford told Trump earlier this month that the automaker will not be moving production of Lincolns out of Kentucky to Mexico, in what is seen as a sign that the company aims to work with the new administration on keeping jobs in America.
The article also says that Trump has talked to Tim Cook of Apple and Bill Gates of Microsoft about building new manufacturing plants in the USA.
Like him or hate him, you #NeverTrumpers have got to celebrate saved jobs/new jobs for the American working class!

Re: Official Trump's Election Promises Made Good
I am cautiously optimistic, my concern would be, "How?".
What did he offer them, to convince them to stay? Was it short term? Long term? Was it specific to them (something that will only benefit Carrier), or was it based around general policies that will affect many different manufacturers?
I'd like some more details.

The details are that Carrier is a division of United Technologies. A quarter of their revenue comes from the Federal government, so they have to play nice. It's simply corporate welfare because they get a bunch of money by making concessions and receiving tax breaks. IOW, it is status quo and is always done this way. They can secure favors from Trump to stay in the US.
Pretty simple. And I agree with you on the details. EVERY company should be treated equally on staying in America and not just some for political theatre.

Can't say that I'm surprised. One might even wonder if the whole "leaving the US" thing was a negotiation tactic, of sorts.

I certainly don't wish Donald Trump would fail, but it's hard to fully trust him after his ugliness during the Primaries. And like I have stated, when I see how he treats the true Conservatives, like Ted Cruz... Well, it's a hide and watch for me.

Oh poor Cruz. His inability to overcome a few negative remarks by Trump shows how the Clinton machine would have totally destroyed him. Trump did us all a favor by being a brawler. The Democrats made this election a brawl and only a brawler could stop them. I do not expect you to ever grasp this reality, but it is still the truth. Cruz has moved on and now supports Trump. You should consider following his example.

My comment was referencing "Conservatives", which Ted Cruz happens to be. Your statement isn't factual that Cruz hasn't overcome the many negative remarks made by Trump. Trump has helped various campaigns to put in Moderates over Conservative candidates in the past. I simply want to see what he does with Conservatives who might disagree with him as President. Recall him saying, "This isn't the Conservative Party, it's the Republican Party."

Please. The Dems wouldn't have lied about Cruz committing adultery. They wouldn't have lied about Ted's father. They wouldn't have continually referenced Cruz as "lying Ted."
The Dems didn't make this a brawl, Trump did. He started it during the primary. He lied about Carson, he lied about Cruz, he lied about Hillary. He lied about anyone who was a threat to him.
His campaign was an embarrassment and stain on conservatives and the GOP.

Many so-called conservatives are neo-cons. I hope Trump sees through the former foes now kissing up to him...

Kissing up to him? Perhaps they are on board because he won the election. These same people will criticize him when he is wrong and praise him when he is right.
