My Opinion

I just want to say that we are all people and we all have feelings. I've been called everything in the book - Jezebel (many times), harlot, backslidden (by a close WPF family member on a public forum), worldly, etc. etc. etc. I've been told flat out that we are going to hell and that we are taking our church to hell.

I know who I am in Christ. I am a redeemed child of God. I am a blood bought Christian. I am a Holy Ghost filled, tongue talking, devil stomping, Believer. No one can take that from me.

However, when I am called names, it HURTS. It hurts badly. I can pretend it doesn't, but it does. I cannot imagine being called those kind of things at the age of 19.

God help us to act like Christians. The Bible still says that others will know we are Christians by our love. If non-Christians were ever to see the vile that comes across in forums like this, they would RUN as far away from Christianity as possible, and especially from the Apostolic church.

I think some of you have become so enamored by your own holiness, that you have forgotten who God is. You are not Him. Neither am I. Let God be God and let Him be Judge of us all!

Re: My Opinion

It's just wearisome. So much to do for the Kingdom and people spend time just being UGLY to each other. Or about other people who are trying to do what they feel God wants them to do.
I will never understand it.

Re: My Opinion

Sherri, you know that I respect you and Eddie, however I feel that you left out some who use their "liberty" to bash everything that they were "liberated" from.
Many times, on this forum, I have seen those who held on to the old "standards" made fun of and blasted.
However, rarely, very rarely, was anything ever done about it.
I reported posts and no action was taken.
I would say that the group of posters that is now left here have done a reasonable job of moderating themselves.
I agree with recent admin actions, but there have been other posts that needed dealt with and were not.
Thus, inactivity by mods/admin, led to the most recent activity.
Now, back to your original point.
Cons and libs can both be equally guilty of not treating each other correctly.
I would say that to OP's like me, we do view some things as heaven or hell issues, that others do not.
Thus leading us to be too personal, when we should just be passionate about our beliefs, but convey this in a kind manner.
God bless.

Re: My Opinion

I agree too. There are issues on both sides of the spectrum. God, help me to just be kind. I respect those of you who hold to different standards and don't desire for anyone to change unless it's by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

I've seen both sides of the spectrum attack each other with equal vitriol. I am glad that finally it is being dealt with by Admin. No doubt it got dealt with because of the publicity it received on another forum, but hopefully going forward the posts that are demeaning and character insulting will be also dealt with like this one was.

Like beauty insults many times are in the eye of the beholder. Just saying.
