I'm listening to profanity in the classroom now

I'm mean now, as I type this. I'm subbing a high school literature class. The students are to take turns reading aloud from a certain novel. It is full of profanity (including "God d--n and the F word)and sexual themes. As an instructor I would be disciplined or fired for using the words these kids are required to read aloud. The kids themselves would also be in trouble for using such language. There is so much classic American literature these kids know nothing about.

This country has gone INSANE! Christians need to rise up and take the school districts back! I know for a fact that 90% of parents in this rural little town would flip over this. How do people who are so opposed to the values of the parents in their school districts end up controlling the education of our kids! ENOUGH!!

Re: I'm listening to profanity in the classroom no

Just talked to the Principal who is a young Christian lady herself. She told me she is just as sick about this as I am but that there is nothing she can do about it. I believe her. I sensed she wanted to tell me more but could not. But we the people CAN do something about this.

Subjecting children to a public school education is a form of child abuse.
If you have no choice, but to send your child to a public school, you need to have a debriefing session, every night, accompanied by prayer and Bible reading.
I grew up attending public schools.
My mother taught in public schools for over 30 years.
I hate what this country has become.
Lord Jesus, come quickly.

Utter and total nonsense. In fact, YOU could have done something about it. I do not understand why, if you feel the way you feel, you allowed things to continue as they did. Why would you not simply have said 'No, we're not reading this garbage, not on my watch'?

As for the principle, she's part of the problem. Who says she can't do anything? She can very well say 'THIS text will NOT be part of the curriculum' and unless the TEACHER wants to push it (meaning the teacher was a commie libturd) then the book goes bye-bye. Does the local school board even KNOW about any of this? Many times nobody has a clue what's actually IN the chosen curriculum.

I refused to let it continue. I have 2 more classes left. I will ignore the assignment and have study hall instead. If they fire me so be it.

BRAVO for you. That's EXACTLY what needed to be done - refusal to comply with the insanity. Just say no.

Kids recognise that and respect that. Most of them probably felt relieved.

I'm sickened by this. Homeschooling is not always easy on my wife but things like this re-affirm our decision to take them out of that environment. I feel for you in your position but I'm glad that you are there to intervene. We will keep your situation in prayer.

The first class I had read silently because it did not seem reading aloud would work with that group. Thus I did not hear the profanity until 2nd period. At the first couple of words I interjected my concern. But when the F bombs and G.D. started, I expressed outrage and shut it down. Sadly most of these unregenerate kids did not understand my concern.

Parents need to be in an uproar on this and demand those allowing this to be fired. Even begin active protest and remind people that they vote. I'd even investigate if parents could press charges of some kind.

On a side note, parent's aren't raising their kids with morals today either. They are allowing Hollywood to do it for them. The school systems can only do so much. If parents aren't enforcing decency and morality the schools are just going to get filled with it and have to respond with detention, suspensions, and expulsions. In the house church movement we challenge all parents to be the primary source of moral and ethical education for their children. Not the government school system, not a Christian school, not a church, not a Sunday school, not Hollywood. This is going to take CHRISTIAN PARENTING.
