I seen a video on Netflix that reminded me of this amazing story from years ago.

I'm sure you heard it at the time. I'm sure you were outraged at the time. 3 whites were accused of raping a black girl.

they were guilty and demonized for over a year before they were exonerated. The black community was very vocal about it. So were women. But it was all a great lie. It was all hype and no substance.

How many more stories do you hear today that are all hype and no substance.

I'm persuaded that journalists are only a little more trustworthy than politicians.

I was in Afghanistan when that story broke.

I told my friends back then that, "I hope she isn't lying." I had my doubts about that story back then.

When the truth came out, I wasn't shocked.

The accuser is now in prison for murder, FYI.

The email that one of the accused sent was very damning at the time.

Had it simply not been sent, I am convinced that the whole thing would not have become the LONG LASTING circus it became.

Of course, the girl should never have lied from the beginning.

Accusing some white guys from the Carolina as racist is one thing.

Rape is a completely different monster.

It is better that there was but 1 liar than there to be multiple perpetrators.

I hoped she wasn't lying because of the nature of her claims and the immediate and far-reaching consequences of blatantly lying about what really happened.

He was disbarred over this case, right?
