The vast establishment conspiracy!
Again, this was done back in August, when the field was huge and no one knew if Cruz would even be in the race by now.

Yesterday marked the second weekend straight in which Trump didn't do any interviews on the weekend shows. He's also continuing to run from debates with Cruz. There has not been a debate since Rubio dropped out. Remember when Trump claimed he wanted Cruz mano el mano. Well, he's had the opportunity for weeks and has run from it.
The reason is he is terrible with actual facts and specifics. He distracts his supporters by whining about the vast establishment conspiracy against him. But he knows he couldn't do that in a debate vs Cruz.

Nevertheless, Colorado did what they did last year with Trump in mind. Even if Trump is everything you say he is, his PLATFORM is what the establishment hates about him, and the fact that so many Americans back such a platform (fair trade, closed borders, immigration laws enforced, no more policing the world). Trump may not be the man in your opinion to implement such a platform. Fine. But the GOP will fight whoever tries to bring about these things no matter what kind of personality the candidate may have or how long he has been a Republican.

And do you see why? Do you really believe these guys like Cruz? As I've said, Cruz is being used and will be discarded.

Donald Trump doesn't really have an honest platform. He spouts all the things he says he is going to do, but never gets into detail. One indication that he has no intention of following through is on immigration.
The NYT is sitting on an off-record tape that indicates Donald Trump has no intention of following through on his immigration promises. Donald won't release the tape, but you can be sure that if he becomes the nominee it will be leaked. This is indicative of all the issues he says he is for. I believe he is running a 3rd party campaign inside the GOP.
Being that his top aide and his own children didn't bother to register as Republicans to vote for their father tomorrow in NY indicates something deeper going on. Ivanka isn't a dumb woman. She put out several instructional videos encouraging people to switch parties to vote for Trump in the "Open" primaries. She knew she also had that responsibility, but didn't follow through.
Another troubling aspect is this train you are on about disfranchising the voters when the rule have been in place. Every campaign had the responsibility to know the rules and apply them to their campaign - Colorado is no different. Yet, his new Convention manager, with a shady lobbying past, is saying that it's rigged because Trump does well in "OPEN" primaries and caucuses. What he is really saying is that in a "CLOSED" primary or caucus only true Republicans vote and Trump doesn't do well there.
I don't believe Trump is a serious candidate and would never take my chances with him.

I don't know how the contested convention will play out, but you could be right, they would discard Cruz as well.
However, in this video even Rush Limbaugh who has been supporting Trump shows that a dirty trick was played on Ted Cruz at the NY Republican GALA. This wasn't done to Kasich or Trump.
Most of the media reported it as Ted not getting the interest after people were on their third glass of wine, but it was more than that.

Re: Co.lawmakers were Cruz supporters
"But the delegate slates filed by the presidential campaigns offer insight into a candidate's organizing prowess and whether they are playing a long game in anticipation of a protracted primary battle, or a contested convention."
