With the U.S. and other countries on high alert for ISIS attacks, American authorities are warning the terror group’s followers may have infiltrated American borders with authentic-looking passports ISIS has printed itself with its own machines, according to an intelligence report obtained by ABC News.

Why not? Jimmy Carter did it.

I don't agree with banning ALL muslims, but I do like what Jimmy Carter did.

Carter didn't impose a blanket ban, he did allow immigration for severe humanitarian or health reasons. The same should be done today. There should be a strict criteria for allowing muslims into the US. And the few allowed in better be thoroughly screened.

The word "ban" sounds so ugly! Maybe "clamp down" on the immigration of Muslims until we can get a handle on safeguards. I can see where there might be an agenda to spread Islam into the USA through heavy immigration .

Well, with the State Dept expediting underwear bombers and shoe bombers and whatnot I really don't see this as being relevant.

BTW, suppose someone had a genuine Syrian passport. In a sane world that itself would be a red flag...

How about simply and temporarily banning the Syrians, or at least slowing down the process and screening the Syrians even more thoroughly than what already happens?

We share the planet with well over ONE BILLION Muslims, from all different walks of life, of all colors, from all continents (except maybe Antarctica) and the GOP has all but whole-heartedly embraced a suggestion that is a practice of BIGOTRY at its core.

It doesn't require much critical thinking to look at what's going on in the world and out fear and/or concern, decide to ban all Muslims.

In fact, banning all Muslims releases the consciences of those who might be inclined to critical thinking from the burden of actually being principled and vulnerable.

So we want freedom but we don't want vulnerability. We want the GOVERNMENT to make us feel safe by enacting ideas that are contrary to the PRINCIPLES that make our form of government and our country exceptional.

Unlimited immigration was never a principle that made our country exceptional.
