He hasn't made a statement on this issue as yet, but his stance on military intervention is this:

1. Allow military leaders to decide the course of action, not politicians.
2. If military force is required, have a clearly defined objective.
3. Use overwhelming force and get the heck (his words) out.
4. It's not the job of our military personnel (soldiers, navy, marines. etc) to set up democratic utopias. Their job is to hunt down terrorists who want to harm Americans.

I don't see him changing his view.

Syria is run by thugs. Now their country is falling apart. There is no positive outcome for Syria.

Nothing USA troops can do will improve the situation in Syria.
