A Reminder...

So I was on facebook a bit ago, and witnessed an unfortunate thing. Granted the person who posted the "thing" is a very new convert (only a few months in), but nonetheless, knowing the current situation of the new convert, I realized the sad fact that what he posted was an invitation to fornication.

I didn't reply to him directly. Instead I wrote and posted the following. May it serve as a reminder. God bless,

Almost all (but not all!) New Testament exhortations and reproofs against sin, and/or the condemnations thereof, are written in the various epistles of the New Covenant.

This means that the Holy Spirit inspired the various authors to address God's concerns regarding sin in the Church, first and foremost.
Those who are outside of the Church have a different message given to them, which is the Good News.

But to those who have received the Good News, the message is, (admittedly an outgrowth of the Good News), namely, that once God has remitted your sins and given you new life in the Holy Spirit, there is nothing in you that keeps you enslaved to the law of sin in your members.

Therefore, having the liberty to live a righteous life in Christ, means that the majority of exhortations and reproofs against sin, and/or the condemnations thereof, are given to the Church (and not the Lost) because to be in the Church, which is the Body of Messiah, and to continue in sin, is to deny the Good News that saved you.

When a person is in Christ, the ONLY yoke around their neck to do or be anything is the yoke of the Lord Jesus. If you are in the Church and are still practicing sinful living, you are denying the yoke of the Lord Jesus and are exchanging it for the yoke of Satan.

You were set free, dear brother or sister. You need not any longer give yourself to the impulses of your flesh. The blood of the Lord Jesus has saved you from the wrath of God. Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of your carnal nature.

Jesus is making intercession in the heavens at the right hand of God, even now, for you and for me, to experience the grace of God that not only saves us, but also teaches and transforms us into the image of Messiah Jesus.

But if you are choosing sinfulness and the yoke of Satan, even as a saint, then the lusts of your father you will do, and you will, YOU WILL receive the same recompense as him. Beware, and take your stand for what is right.

Romans 6:11-16,

11. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
