Here's recent polling data on the GOP candidates (per the latest CNN poll 9/17-9/19):
Lindsey Graham - 0%
Not even his home state wants this guy running for President. 78% of Republicans polled in SC want Graham to drop out of the race. 51% disapprove of his performance. Even better, when faced with the choice of voting for either Trump or Graham, his own constituents voted 72%-20% in favor of Trump! Not sure how he's able to fund his campaign and keep it going, when it's obvious he's not going to win a single primary race.
Bobby Jindal - 0%
Couldn't find home state data, but getting 0% is a clear reason to drop out.
Rick Santorum - 0%
I don't know why this guy even decided to run again. Polling at 0%, just drop out.
John Kasich - 2%
FoxNews helped make sure he was in the main debate last month, but while that provided a temporary bump of 2 or 3pts, his numbers have dropped again. Drop out.
Chris Christie - 3%
Recently told the General in charge of the NJ National Guard to lose weight and meet military fitness standards within 90 days.
Once upon a time I liked this guy. He's wrong on most issues. Drop out.
Rand Paul - 4%
This saddens me. I like Rand Paul, I really do. His strong stand for civil liberties, his foreign policy and policies related to race and our justice system are better than any of the other Republican candidates...including my other favorite, Ted Cruz. Unfortunately, his message has been muted because of the media's obsession with Trump. Personally, I'd like to see him remain in the race, even with his low polling numbers.
Mike Huckabee - 6%
While I appreciate his defense of Kim Davis, I've never been a supporter. One of my best friends is from Arkansas and has little good to say of Huckabee's time as Governor. I'm hoping he drops out soon.
Ted Cruz - 6%
Cruz was recently on The Colbert Show, which is masquerading as the former David Letterman Late Show. He was awesome! Even with a hostile audience and host, Cruz seemed very relaxed and gave a great answer to the SSM jab by Colbert. I read that he's added some staff since Scott Walker dropped out of the race, and Cruz's fundraising is still very good, so I don't see him leaving the race anytime soon. If Cruz and Rand Paul are still in the race by the Arizona primary, it's going to be very tough deciding on which candidate to vote.
Jeb Bush - 6%
Do. Not. Want. Another. Bush. For common core. For amnesty. For increased government surveillance. For more war. I'm happy to see his campaign is polling low, but I don't trust the establishment. I'm hoping he just gets tired and drops out soon.
Marco Rubio - 11%
I like Rubio. He's a likeable guy with a great story. My problem with Rubio is he's a hawk who would likely continue the illegal surveillance of Americans and drag us into more middle east conflicts. I wouldn't be surprised if a deal is made between him and Bush, should both be running yet early next spring.
Ben Carson - 14%
I don't get the appeal for Carson, other than people are just very anti-establishment. He's too soft-spoken, almost effeminate. His views on free speech and the Second Amendment are worrisome. About the only thing I agree with Carson on is his statement about muslims not being President...though he's backtracked on that and taken the false "moderate" vs "radical" line. I wouldn't mind Carson as Surgeon General, but that's about it.
Carly Fiorina - 15%
RINO and establishment plant who has had a liberal past, along with wrecking HP as CEO. As stated in a previous thread, while there have been women leaders like Margaret Thatcher, and while a woman could run for President, I don't believe a woman should be President. I wouldn't vote for Fiorina, even if she wins the nomination...which is highly unlikely. Her high poll numbers will increase voter and media scrutiny on her past and I don't believe GOP voters will approve.
The Donald Trump - 24%
Arrogant. Bombastic. Pretentious. Loquacious. obama times 100. If GOP voters think obama is arrogant and narcissistic, he has nothing on The Donald. While I've enjoyed The Donald's unfiltered opinions and statements, he has no substance. None. Everything is going to be "the greatest" with him as President, though he offers no reason as to WHY or how. Unfortunately, it's resonating with voters. The Donald's campaign has the energy and excitement, much like obama's campaign did back in 2008. I'm hoping that if The Donald's numbers remain high, and he starts winning primaries, and that should he shock the establishment and win the nomination...that he'll select Ted Cruz as his VP. Trump/Cruz. I'd rather it be Cruz/xxxx, but as it appears this moment, the best I can hope for is Trump/Cruz
