Keyboard Choices

I am looking for a decent synth (do they call them that anymore? ) to work with. I am looking for a good used one as a new one is out of my price range right now.

Does anyone have any good suggestions as to what to look for? Models that you are would suggest?

I will be watching ebay etc.

I really can't go much over a couple hundred dollars right now.

I know that makes it nearly impossible to find a good keyboard to work with but generally when we put due diligence into looking the Lord takes care of the rest.

As in 2 with a little bit of play room....

Yeah... that is what I am afraid of. I just can't go that much right now.

The Lord has provided some fantastic deals from time to time... barring that I will just have to have patience. I can afford patience.

If you are brave enough to play live from software on your laptop you can get a Keyboard MIDI controller with a USB connection for about $200 (61 key or 88 key). But then you would have to get the Synth software.

$200 ??

you can get a yamaha keyboard at costco for about that price
but if you are wanting a REAL keyboard you can forget finding one for $200. not a new one
you may try a pawn shop or consignment

Good luck at that price...might want to wait or have some fundraisers. You might be able to ebay a Yamaha P-150 or a Roland RD 500??? They have weighted keys and good piano sounds. They also will give you a little synth like a soft pad or string patch to play behind you. I'm thinking the $400-600 range. Good Luck!

BTW, weighted keys are a MUST!!! hehe
