Re: Jim Bakker exposes prosperity message
Yes truly impressive. I remember contending against the prosperity teaching when he was one of its leaders. I had an Aunt who followed him and she never fully recovered when he was exposed.
Nonetheless God is rich in mercy and I have seen Jim on a few sound bites fighting against the pre tribulation rapture and warning people about suffering for Christ.
It seems like his chastisment from God has born fruit. Wonder how he feels about Oneness teaching in this time of his life?

Re: Jim Bakker exposes prosperity message
He may be against the prosperity gospel now but he hasn't changed too many of his ways. He is hawking Prepper supplies on his show and website at very high prices. His post trib stance seems caclulated to sell more prepper goods.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

If fund raising is wrong then we had better knock out all those Sheaves for Christ fundraisers in our churches.
As far as I'm concerned, any pastor teaching that Christians are commanded in scripture to give 10% of their income to the church is doing something far worse than Bakker peddling trib supplies.

Yeah..in fact every time I see the title here...with the word exposes in it, I am reminded of some of the OTHER reasons he failed.

No doubt about it. He failed greatly. But I've never seen a morally fallen minister so change his message as Bakker has. All the others dig in and double down on their prosperity and cheap grace message.

Are you sure he isn't into prosperity? BTW fundraising for your own gain is not honorable when it's under the guise of christian charity.
All these TV preachers have the same stigma of getting rich off of it
