Pulled over by camo cop in armored vehicle

This man may be strange, but I do not see where he broke the law.

Again, when we try to make this trigger happiness a "racial issue", we are falling into a trap. This problem transcends race...Strong language.

Intentionally disrespects the cops to get attention, then gets mad when it happens. It doesn't matter if it's legal or not, it's nothing more than an attempt to get attention.

Both sides were in the wrong here, though (I'm not referring to law, I'm talking about ethics).

The bozo in the car shouldn't have tried to make the cops mad, and the cops should have had a thicker skin about it, and just let it be.

I don't see the necessity for the police to be armed like military personnel. On the flip side I am sure that the demands on the police dept. may vary from city to city. I do think that it isn't fair to send out our officers with inadequate resources to defend themselves. If a gang in a city like Chicago is doing driveby's with full auto assault rifles it isn't fair to say that the local PD is to rely on side piece. This situation has two sides and most cases it is not racial.

I have never in my life had a problem with my local PD. I have been pulled over many times and have received traffic violations, but I haven't ever made an officer feel threatened and I think that is what is happening in most of the cases. When ever we feel threatened we sometimes become irrational. Officers should be screened and well trained to handle these situations without becoming irrational. There are going to bad apples in every bunch.

Agreed. It's a shame it takes having to defend the rights of a weirdo to point out when a cop is out of control. What really disturbed me was the cop's disregard for and complete misunderstanding of the Constitution.

What gets me is why the Supreme court should rule on something as silly as sticking up your middle finger. IMO, if someone is so crazy to drive by and do that to a cop, then it arises suspicions of what else was going on like: was he high, drunk, or have intents do something beyond that point.

This is ridiculous. There is no reason for a local or state law enforcement agency to have an armor plated personnel carrier. Nor is there any reason for these Sheriff deputies to be wearing camouflage like they're some military unit.

This kid was stupid for flipping them off, but these deputies were even more ignorant, charging him for "improper hand signal." Give me a break.

And people wonder why folks don't trust the police. LEO's are turning into military units, driving armor-plated Humvees, wearing camo and using military-type assault weapons and gear.

I agree the armor vehicle shouldn't be on on our highways with the exception of maybe a swat team for very special circumstances.What is the camo for anyway? It kind of defeats the purpose of calling it camouflage when wearing jungle camo in a suburban area. waste of tax payer dollars. An unmarked car and civilian clothes would be more of a camouflage. I thought the use of improper hand signal was witty, though. People like this guy pulled over is adding fuel to the fire of the us versus them mentality between citizens and law enforcement.
