Apostolic Study Bible
Has any purchased one of the recently released KJV Apostolic Study Bibles by the Word Aflame Press, the official publishing arm of the UPCI? If so, and you've taken the time to examine it, then what is your opinion?

Re: Apostolic Study Bible
I've given up on study bibles. All I need is the text in readable format. I use an interlinear, a Lexicon, several dictionaries, and several concordances. Not to mention www.blueletterbible.org and my set of Barne's Notes if I'm feeling frisky.

Re: Apostolic Study Bible
The Holy Apostolic New Bible is still being created, but the Holy Apostolic New Testament has been finished.
It has many features not found in any other Bible.
plus it uses the Eusebian citation in Matthew 28:19

In other words it uses a citation from Eusebius instead of translating the text. Yeah, that's how you give people the Word of God, don't translate the text just use Patristic citations instead!

Re: Apostolic Study Bible
Maybe include the citation as a side note?

- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Nothing like putting your own beliefs in the Bible, cherry-picked from sketchy sources.

Re: Apostolic Study Bible
Fed Ex delivered my UPCI generated KJV Apostolic Study Bible yesterday, and after several hours of examining many of its addendums, notes, etc., I must confess that I am sorely grieved.
About 25 years ago I purchased a leather bound Thompson Chain Reference Bible, and after a short while I gave it away. The abundance of its addendums, notes, etc., which I found were NOT in strict accord with the truth of God's written Word caused me to reject it as worthy of its possession. I was almost persuaded to purchase a Scofield Reference Bible, but upon perusing its pages at a local bookstore I quickly rejected it as well for the same reason.
While neither the Thompson Chain Reference or Scofield Bibles caused me much grief, for I was well aware that its "additions" were NOT the "works" of men whom I believed to be "true" men of God, such is not the case with the UPCI KJV Apostolic Study Bible. All of its addendums, notes, etc. are the "works" of men whom I believe to possess the same Spirit of Truth as I, and to discover the numerous errors that I've encountered during such a brief examination of its contents, gives me great cause for concern.
John was inspired of God to write and warn: "that NO lie is of the truth" ( I John 2:21). The UPCI KJV Apostolic Study Bible not only contains numerous "lies" (I'm only being candid), but sorely fails to even address many of those passages that many of my Apostolic brethren struggle with their understanding, for instance, the sayings of Peter and Paul (as well as others) that "are hard to be understood."
Therefore my assessment of it is that of a thoroughly "corrupt" text. I would NOT recommend that any purchase it, unless, of course, you desire to discover for yourself whether my assessment of its contents are meritorious or not.
