Maybe. Still this isn't President Obama's doing. The effects of Snowden's actions are widespread and I am not convinced the damage is far from controlled.

Unable to view the link, but read a NYT story about the same issue. NYT Link

1) No one should be surprised that the US spies on everyone, including her allies. I would bet there are and have been German spies here in the US. Every country does it.

2) I doubt this began with obama, so I don't blame him or this admin for the fallout. I would bet the CIA does a lot of which the President is not made aware. That isn't the fault of the President, it's just the way some things have to work, else the President would have a lot more legal troubles than just the current House lawsuit.

3) I also don't blame Snowden for this. I like what he's done and continues to do.

I do not believe this would have happened under any other recent President, either Dem or Rep.
Former CIC had a better relationship with other leaders.
The spying was happening, I am sure, but nothing would have been made public.
Overall, this just shows me how much disdain that Merkel has for BHO.
