One of the last great Democrats. The party used to be full of them. I remember when the Republicans were considered the Liberals!! Larry McDonald was going to run for President against George H.W. Bush in 1988 and would have cleaned his clock. At the time of his sudden death in 1983, he was considered to be the most anti-communist and most conservative member of Congress! Yes, a Democrat!!
Oh, did I mention he was on board KAL 007 when it was shot down by the Soviets? Hmmm.
